Dr. Warishan Hasan was born in Bangladesh and raised in Houston. She is fluent in Bangla and English. She completed her doctorates at the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2019 and is a licensed therapeutic optometrist and a glaucoma specialist.
During her time in optometry school, she interned in Dallas, TX to provide care for the underserved. She gained experience in managing diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, red eyes and more. She also interned in the rural city of Center, TX where she encountered and managed a variety of ocular disorders such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, uveitis,retinal detachments, and performed many foreign body removals. Dr. Hasan also became a teaching assistant during her final year and focused on teaching clinical procedures to the new incoming students.
Dr. Hasan practices full scope optometry and enjoys fitting her patients in glasses and contacts lenses that fit the needs of her patient’s lifestyles. She is passionate about specialty contact lenses, dry eye management, red eye management, and co-management of cataracts and refractive procedures such as LASIK.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her soon to be husband! She is a bit of an adventure seeker and lives for new experiences such as sky-diving, bungee jumping, hand-gliding, and more. She also enjoys traveling, trying out new restaurants, and binge watching TV shows.
